| Winners for the Bridgewater Miner's Lottery will be determined here.
I will tally the entries each week, list the entrants alphabetically and then assign them a number or numbers depending on the number of qualified entries.
I will then roll the dice. If I roll an unassigned number, I will roll again. If I roll your number, you win and get 40 pounds. I will repeat for the second prize of 10 pounds.
Winners will need to see the Mayor to receive their prize.
Each week is defined as the game days of Sunday through Saturday. Entries must be made by end of game day on the Monday following and must include a screen shot showing the county paying its debts and at least three other lines of history.
Please let me know if you have any questions. | |

| As an example:
Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, Sleepy, and Dopey all enter the miner's lottery. I list them alphabetically with their number of entries and now have to give them numbers.
We have a total of 23 entries; clearly I need to roll more than one die.
If I roll 4 dice that gives me numbers up to 24, right? No. Adding the dice together produces a bell probability curve. The people in the middle would have a much higher chance of winning and the people at the top or bottom would never win.
So, I roll just two dice and use them like digits. Anyone who has rolled 2 10-sided dice to get a number from 1-100 will understand this more intuitively. It's a little more confusing because we're working in base 6 here, but trust me it works. The probability is even and fair.
Example:
die 1 die 2 1 Bashful 1 1 2 Bashful 1 2 3 Bashful 1 3 4 Bashful 1 4 5 Doc 1 5 6 Doc 1 6 7 Doc 2 1 8 Dopey 2 2 9 Dopey 2 3 10 Dopey 2 4 11 Grumpy 2 5 12 Grumpy 2 6 13 Grumpy 3 1 14 Grumpy 3 2 15 Happy 3 3 16 Happy 3 4 17 Sleepy 3 5 18 Sneezy 3 6 19 Sneezy 4 1 20 Sneezy 4 2 21 Sneezy 4 3 22 Sneezy 4 4 23 Sneezy 4 5
Now I roll.... | |

| In future, instead of making individual rolls, I will roll 8 dice and consider each pair in order until I have two valid pairs. That should cut down on too much spamming the forum with rerolls. | |

| ahh good system but i have a question for you bez does the amount of times you've worked in the mines affect your chances to win? (i think it should since buying more tickets means you have more chance) | |

| Yes, the more you work in the mine, the better your chances. In the example above some of the dwarves had worked more days than others and were therefore assigned more numbers. Sneezy worked six days and Sleepy only worked one. | |
