Malion tried to pay attention to Brother Rooks reading but he found his mind wandering. He looks lovingly into Babe’s eyes and smiles as he remembers when he first met her and their first dance. He squeeze’s Babe’s hands and waits for Brother Rook to begin.

Looking to the assembled guests, Rook continues

Who gives this woman to be wed in holy matrimony?

Silence fills the church, then aww rings out. I turn see that my brother James has left the church think to myself guess he really didn't want to give me away.

Without realizing it I utter these words out loudly: "Guess no one wants to give me away, but would one of my dearest friends step forward so that we may continue on?"

Hearing Rook ask the needed question. Marz nervously stands. Not having done this part before. With her friends behind her and in front she smiles to Island and Malion. “I Marzena Muffin Morgan do take such a grand honor.” she continues to stand a little while smiling at her friends. The wine back at the reception hall making her mouth begin to water slightly.

Rook turns to Malion

Wilt thou, Malion, have Islandbabe to be thy wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony?

Malion smiles into Babe’s dazzling brown eyes, clears his throat and says in a loud, strong voice, I will.

Rook turns to Islandbabe

Wilt thou, Islandbabe, have Malion to be thy wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony?

As the tears flow from my eyes I look deeply into Malions grey eyes happily say: I will!

Malion, please repeat these vows:

I, Malion, take thee, Islandbabe, to be my wedded wife,
to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer
for poorer, for fairer or fouler, in sickness and in health, to
love and to cherish, till death us depart, according to God's
holy ordinance; and thereunto I plight thee my troth.

Malion’s voice quivers as he repeats after Brother Rook.
I, Malion, take thee, Islandbabe, to be my wedded wife,
to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer
for poorer, for fairer or fouler, in sickness and in health, to
love and to cherish, till death us depart, according to God's
holy ordinance; and thereunto I plight thee my troth.

Sits back down slowly trying not to sit upon her friends. Tearing up a bit herself. Dang weddings always get me. Listening to them exchange their vows she smiles and feels like cheering, but refrains as she watches them enjoying their moment in the sun. Relaxing her tired body back into the pew she grins as they continue their happy exchange.

Islandbabe, please repeat these vows:

I, Islandbabe, take thee, Malion, to be my wedded husband,
to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for
richer or poorer, in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish, till death us
depart, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereunto I

I....I.... *swallows hard I....take a deep breathe in release it slow my hands shaking within his* I breathe in deeply again then speak.....

Rook looks to Lemuel

May I have the rings, please?

Trisalene holds her breath, trying not to disturb the service as her eyes come slightly moist. She glances over and catches eyes with Silvermane who stands across the way, beside Malion as a groomsman, and they smile to one another. They both then refocus on their dear friends as the service continues.

Rook takes the rings and begins the blessing

O merciful Jah, we pray that those who wear these rings, that give and receive them, may be ever faithful to one another, remain in your peace, and live and grow together in your love, under their own
vine and fig tree, and seeing their children's children.

Rook passes the rings to the Islandbabe and Malion

Malions hand shakes as he takes the ring from Rook. He holds Babes left hand in his own as he slides the ring onto her finger. He looks into her eyes and smiles. He wants nothing more then to pick Babe up in his arms and kiss her.

You are everything to me Babe. You are my sunshine in a rainy day. When I needed someone, you were there. My love for you is never ending and always growing. His eyes water up and his voice cracks as he has a hard time continuing. I will always love you Babe.

Now if you would each take a candle and light the Unity Candle together...

Rook continues as Malion and Islandbabe light the candle together

...this candle represents not only the union of two souls, but also serves to remind us that when the light of Friendship is shared, it grows ever stronger.



Almighty Jah, pour down your grace upon Malion and Islandbabe that they may fulfill the vows they have made this day and reflect your steadfast love in their life-long faithfulness to each other.

By the power invested in me by the Universal Roman Aristotlian Church, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife

Those whom God hath joined together let no man put asunder. Forasmuch as Malion and Islandbabe have consented together in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, and thereto have given and pledged their troth each to the other, and have declared the same by giving and receiving of a Ring, and by joining of hands; I pronounce therefore that they be Husband and Wife together, In the Name of Jah Almighty.

Rook makes the sign of the cross

Takes a candle and lights it in unison with Babe.

Malion was happy to obey Brother Rooks last words. He smiles into Babe’s eyes as he wraps his arms around her. He slowly brings his lips to hers and closes his eyes as their lips meet. He mentally catalogs this moment in his mind, he never wanted to forget their first kiss as Husband and Wife.
