Your worship...Duke Justinan

I realize that elections or just around the corner...but I have recived disconcerting news about Sussex County...

Following is a letter Posted by Duchess Funmath of Worcester

Independence
Sussex Declaration of Independance Icon_quote

Sussex has declared independence from
England. They previously removed themselves from Parliament, the Court of
Appeals and the NEA. They have now declared themselves totally independent from
England, rejecting the regent and the King. They call themselves the Country of
Sussex now. All of these things were done by votes of their elected county
council.

I was able to get permission to repost this from Sussex:

<tr><td class="quote">People of Sussex,

You are my friends, we have grown
together. We are friends, we are neighbors, we drink together we are who we wish
to be.

The regent and others may want to try to show their might.

I say they cannot defeat what we feel so strongly against.

A
useless system vs a strong community.

I ask all of you to form and be
ready. We will fight the ignorance of what is best for our land

The
council has done what is best for the lands in which we have control. All of us,
every citizen, has served you well.

It is time we reject the ignorance
from control. We must embrace those who are our neighbors, and not those who
wish to rule from afar.

I say REVOLUTION.

Not from tyranny but
from ignorance.

They call us traitors?

They never knew us.

We know our neighbors

We know our friends

We know our
lovers

And we will DEFEND the right to be Sussex

Only those here
know what it is to be a part of Sussex and WE SHALL defend our right to that
life.

My friends, my neighbors, my Sussexians,

defend tho right
to be free, of ignorance.</td></tr></table>

I'll post as much info as I can for you here as things
develop.
Funmath

It sounds l;ike this may mean war and feel that Somerset should be on its guard as all sort of people shall be travelling through our county to go to Sussex

The council has been made aware of the situation, and the embassy is in touch with the duke and the people to find the best solution.

Since the independence didn't happen IG (can that even be done?) I think they still have to give LJS/Levan his share...

This is a paper independance...only. All the rules of the RK must still be followed and does not exempt them. The only difference is that they no longer participate in the English parliamment and the English judicial system as they have established their own set of laws and parliament.

The following is the official declaration by the Countess of Sussex...

Official Declaration by the Duchess of Sussex - Lady Zeathea Shadowkin

Citizens of Sussex

I come before you today to tell you of a momentous vote that your
Council took this week. Once we were the whole of England, many notable
people from all over the world trace their beginnings back to one of
our noble cities. We have watched County after County come up beside
us. We have helped form a nation that we could be proud of. And
recently we have watched that hopeful start turn into a corrupt place,
full of power mongers, partygoers, and pretenders. First we removed
ourselves from the House of Parliament, after we saw that they were
content with rubber stamping Justices from the Court of Appeals and
trying to make each other jobs harder. At that time we also removed
ourselves from the Court of Appeals, because they insisted on trying to
change county law from its bench. We made our own Court of Appeals.

Recently we looked at the Regency, its privy Council, and our ever
absent King. We asked do we wish to be under a Court whose members
insult us, whose Regent accepts this behavior as acceptable. Our King
is also the King of another distant land, where he lives. We are
unimportant to him.

Therefore I must announce that on this day, the Council of Sussex
has voted to Succeed from the Country of England and form our own
Country. Henceforth this is the Country of Sussex. We believe the idea
of Kings is a bad one, and will keep our Country a democratic one, with
the elected Council being the highest authority therein.

For the lives of our Citizens, nothing will change. The crops still
need tending, the mines still need workers. We will still trade with
our neighbors and friends. For us, the Council and all future councils
to come, it means more. No more looking over our shoulder, waiting for
Parliament or the Regent to decree a law that goes against everything
Sussex stands for, and offer sanctions against us if we do not comply.
No more having to temper our laws and our ideals to what those outside
feels should be acceptable. We will make our laws, or ideals the way
the citizens of Sussex find acceptable and that is all that should
matter.

Will there be war? I do not know. We have many friends within
England, as I already said some great number were born here. I would
hope that His Royal Highness of England Chris Braveheart will accept
our leaving, and wish us well. We are still allies.

However, if an army comes on Sussex soil without our permission
that army shall be destroyed and its members put up for trial in our
court. If you are worried about the possibility of war, citizens and
friends, the best thing you can do for your country is to join the
Sussex army and help it defend your homeland.

Visitors to Sussex, Welcome! You are witnessing the birth of a new
nation. Right now it is bloodless and as you return to your homes of
origin I ask that you carry this message. We, at this moment, are still
honoring all treaties that were held by the former County of Sussex. We
will assume that those treaties are in force unless notified under the
terms of that treaty of its end. We will be very happy to make new
treaties with those we do not currently have them with, or modify
existing ones.

My friends, this is a period of change. I cannot promise it will be
a smooth one, but we will do everything within our power to make it as
easy as possible. If you have questions, ask. If you have problems,
please let us know. We will patrol the roads during this time to keep
people safe and we will be watching to keep our homes safe.

For Sussex! For Freedom!
