Mike leaves a note in his office for all the troops of Chard to see if they stop by:

Quote :

Attention Troopers: As you may have noticed, I haven't been terribly *posty* the last few days, at least not nearly as much as I was a week or two ago and back, its quite honestly because I'm busy doing mayor-work and math for school (midterms this week and next) and also staying off the computer a bit more then normal, it *is* summer and I enjoy the lake an awful lot Very Happy Very Happy

But down to business. I WILL be awarding action points for the last activity officially once I get it worked out, as well as some for recruiting troopers and patrolling, I just have to make sure it's all fair.

Another round of promotions is upcoming, although I must say I'm missing a ton of corporal/unit reports from this weekend/last weekend, thats partially why I've been hesitant to post much on promotions/squad movements.

I'd like to thank everyone who's keeping active during my not so active time, this is getting on to summer time and its always hard to keep people interested as much these days, Please try to make sure you post at least once or twice per week troops, just to say hi, I hope thats not too much to ask. And again thank you everyone who's been working so hard Very Happy

Aye Lieutenant Sir. I'm having trouble understanding all yer saying but I've been hearing 'bout these "egg zams" things for sometime and i've been issuing warnings. Ah think it may be caused by the Scotch eggs but I'm not sure. A hear you have anxiety attacks and break out in cold sweats and such the likes. Funny enough ah know the illness can be cured and even prevented by staring long hours at scholarly texts and spending much time in the library. The level 3s teachers could possibly advise on this! Ah'm over all that meself but Ah still remember it and you have all my sympathy and best wishes! That goes for all you others in the same position as the Lieutenant. If you need help Sir just say the word!

Notice to all SAS members.

ALERT!

On the road from Bristol to Gloucester today, Lieutenant Timari and I passed a person named Dry. Dry is a known criminal and had at one stage at around June 16th attacked Sergeant Marae of the Bridgewater SAS between Worcestor and Evesham. This person has been known to have also caused problems in Cornwell. As a precaution please advice all travellers to not travel alone.

Please be on the look out for trouble.

shane salutes the officers

sorry for the intrusion but i am curious about paid military service, i have read a few things about it but none of them state what one gets paid nor do they make it any easier to understand.

i was alos wondering weather it would be possible to have set patrols?

this could be done in each town in the county as follows.

each town has a corporal.
the corporal forms a armed group (squad of volenteers)
and they travel around the vicinity of the city/town they belong
they report all activity to the town comander on the forum
each person who took place in the patrol earns 5-8 pounds each day they travel (which can be paid via the tranfer of wooden bushels since i assume in game coding would not allow for this sort of thing.)
also each person earns one activity piont for each day they travel.

i am only making a sugestion but as you can see i have thought it out. im not sure if ive thought of everything but this will do for now. i hope this helps organize patrols for the SAS.

Glad to be of service.

Shane salutes the officers and leaves woundering what the outcome shall be.

All right lets see what we've got here,

Chief Marshal - Paid by county
Everyone else - No pay
In the event of a war - Anyone joining in game army is paid (and possibly fed)

Patrols:
Although I would like to have patrols, we have no one with stats available, you get 1 fight coefficient for every 50 strength, so optimaly to stand a strong chance against bandit groups we'd want 3-4 people with 200+ strength, more to have fair patrol routines. This isn't likely to happen any time soon, as I've discovered with our 1st squadron, theres only so far 1 person to respond having more then _50_ strength, other then myself who can't travel anyway.

I would like to have patrols, but we really need an older group before its feasible
Action points are already specified as reward for official patrols (although we have no official patrols currently)

And pay for patrols... well you'd have to work it out with the county, which *may* be possible as they've made a lot of extra cash lately, I agree though that it would be a good idea, just that we're not ready yet Smile

Sir in lieu of the up and coming "reorganization" of the squads once again, I wish to ask how the currant reports are to be handled. Shall I collect the reports of my currant squad for this week, or await the new squad redistribution.
Also I see a lot of locked out posts now and was wondering if we could move them all to their own separate folder. Were they can still be viewed, but will not clutter up the currant threads. As with the Corporal thread, we could call it the History or Library thread, or something like that, and place all those in it.

Heh heh I've had that thought before as well Barerose (the moving of locked threads)

But I need to talk to hypno to get a new Chard SAS Library or something, which requires a bit of fiddling, I'll try to get that if I ever talk to him and if he feels nice Very Happy

Sir,

*salutes*

"Yeoman Redondo reporting"

I wish to report that I have left Chard, Somerset and moved to Whithorn, Scotland. I'm sorry wasn't more involved in the SAS, but I had been spending alot of my time between Exeter(fruit) and Dorcester(fish) working to get my stats up. which I have managed to do. I am now qualified to work at high stat jobs. I had hoped to start spending more time back here in Chard and focusing more on my participation in the SAs, but then this opporitunity came up and I took advantage of it. Thank you for allowing me to join and I'm sorry to be leaving on such short notice.

I *salute* the SAS... a fine military unit. Smile

Hello Sir!

I've chosen the church way, therefore i can't serve here anymore, 'cos priests may not carry weapons, they can therefore not be responsible for a military order.

Is it possible to continue my work as a chaplain?

Yours,

Hmmm.... I *think* so, we'll leave you access for now until somerset has an actual captain I can check with, Hypno & Bellos' leaving has kinda messed up the chain of command, I'm not sure if its 1 chaplain for all somerset or 1 per town, if its 1 per town, you've got it

Hmmm ok lets see, time to get back to work, had my obligatory 2 weeks off after finishing my mayor business now to continue on with the SAS revival...

Things to do:

  • Figure out who's still active
  • Divy out some corporal positions and get our squads going
  • Revamp the role play
  • Clean up the forum (need an admin and I'll start archiving some old threads)
  • Work out another round of promotions
  • Get the internal infrastructure working again so that I see some stats (that way I can get promotions accurately)
  • Get the recruiting drive off the ground to see some fresh blood in here Very Happy
  • Probably lots of other things too
Ways people can help:
-Stay active, post in the training area
-Apply for corporal positions, I'll start a thread and see who wants one and then hire as we get going
-recruit new folks from the taverns
-as things improve keep your stats updated and report to your squad/corporals report to me twice a month.
-have some fun Very Happy

As usual my batch of Corporals has all but disappeared, shane has moved, wayshaker has changed his squad into something else, and I haven't heard from dwymilic or iltherdion in some time now, I'd like Aeryn to return to her spot as Corporal if she'd like it/isn't too busy mayoring.

Any other people interested in becoming corporals/staying corporals please post here, as it is I have 0 normally active corporals right now, I think that position is cursed. Maybe I'll rename it something cooler, I'll be taking suggestions.

Wayshaker enters the office and clears his throat.
Ahem, Lieutenant I'm not sure my intervention is fair (that word again Smile),but please feel free to invite any interested members of my Squad to run for the position of Corporal. Don't feel I am trying to unduly influence your decision ( I didn't say that I wasn't, I am just saying you shouldn't feel that way Town Commanders Office. - Page 2 Icon_lol) but seriously, they have done well. They have reported on time, remained active, displayed good attitude and it's been a pleasure to work with them.Which is why I wanted to drag them round the county with me.

So either not many people check in here... or no one really cares...

I know its been Christmas break for most people here, but I really need *some* level of activity from my corporals if I'm to get anything organized/done around here, wayshaker still sends me updates for his ergh kinda like squad thing, but the last one I have from dwym is a few weeks old, and nothing from Ilth in longer I believe, if the corporals can't report in when requested I'll have to replace them... of course, if no one volunteers to replace them it doesn't make that job any easier either..

I really can't run Dr. Dodgerock _all_ by myself... I have been prepared for that activity for... probably months now... but without teams it kinda keeps fizzling...

So things to do:

If you're a corporal, post here, and pm me with updated troop stats (if you haven't in the last 2 weeks)

If you're not a corporal but would like to be, post here!

If you would like to help out with some work (recruiting/activities) let me know (that goes for anyone)
