I personally full heartedly oppose this idea. And I think that it would be foolish for the Town Council to back/support/endorse/stand by and watch this happen. As the official governing body of Chard, it is our duty to stand up and be leaders for the people. If our neighbors are not happy with us, we will not prosper to our fullest potential. Dumping hides on foreign markets is one of the surest ways to loose any support.
I, along with all of you and many before us, have worked hard to foster strong relationships with our neighbors. A wise man once told me, "the key to a successful merchant is relationships." I find this 100% true, people come to us with good deals because we have a good relationship with them, because we treat our neighbors with the utmost respect.
We are all citizens of England, and may soon need to join together against a mightier enemy, why jeopardize the work we have done to make friends with our neighbors.
I do not support this "step on others to get to a higher ground" approach to solving this epidemic.
Adamantly yours,
