| Its time for a new Mayor training thread (we have a good one on the main forums, but its sort of long forgotten, theres also the mayor's guide in the university on the other site too, but I'd like to have an official program for Chard)
If you are interested in becoming a mayor, please post here. I don't really want to be a mayor forever, I'd like someone competent and willing to take over to replace me.
We can run some questions/answers and I can make sure the next mayor is ready for the job before actually getting thrown into it. |

| First thing to do:
Being a mayor requires lots of time/reading, the first task for any person wanting to be mayor is to read these two threads:
http://forum.renaissancekingdoms.com/viewtopic.php?t=30667
and
http://forum.renaissancekingdoms.com/viewtopic.php?t=20141
These cover the basics of mayoring and I'll be assuming you're already familiar with that subject matter, and I may even ask questions about them to be sure everyone's done their homework ;)
Being mayor is not for the faint of heart, level 1's who've just started the game are unlikely to become good mayors unless they are willing to spend an enormous amount of time learning how the game works in all aspects, all fields/ranches, all 2nd level workshops, millitary/religon/politics, level 3 skill basics and trade/economic details as well as legal procedings are all necessary knowledge to become good mayors (lots to learn!)
But you *can* do it, if you're interested/active/willing to learn. Come join me and we'll work our way through what being a mayor is really all about. |

Sir, I will be doing a breif article on your mayor training course in the upcoming edition of the Chard Pulp. Perhaps it will generate some participation. I did have a look at the existing threads you recommended, but after several attempts to get my pea brain around them, I succumbed to a migraine and gave up. Atri, just a peasant girl | |

| I'm interested. I ran through the thread you and bellos posted up with minimal information that adds to Chards normal thread on mayoral chores which by the looks of it should be fairly easy though im not sure how much of it there is, or rather how time consuming. I would like to know how many contacts ill be messaging concerning the merchants both of chard and other cities that might frequent here unless the merchant head is in charge of those matters. | |

| Rebo does normally take care of contacts with our neighbours except namely the Trade Minister of Somerset who I deal with directly since I control the town hall inventory specifically. And its rather difficult to stay totally up to date with neighbours since elections change those in charge so often heh heh With the current council the workload of the mayor has decreased a fair bit, and now its more about keeping everyone working together and active in council, and then just keeping things tidy in town hall (grants/axes/inventory basically) And thank you two for showing interest, I'm pleased to have people show up, I'd like one or two more people just to broaden the discussion a bit and then we can proceed a bit more Oh and a couple other sorta requirements for mayor for people interested (not official, but still really important) Some form of instant messagin (aka msn) will likely be required to talk to councillors and trade ministers and other merchants, sending mails takes way too long. I'm thinking a term or so on council as well, since you'll be working with the council to keep things going it will be important to understand how we work together and what everyones duties and responsibilities are, and as mayor you are responsible for everyone keeping up there end of the job |

| well, since this is my last term, I'd like to have a chat with anyone wanting to be mayor next term, leave a message, talk to me, ask questions.
If you want to run next term lets get things sorted out earlier rather then later |
