| So this is my new office. Who exactly has access here, just other councillors? Can mayors call in here? How about the general public? If I appoint deputy sheriffs in the future would they be able to report in here? | |

| Well, I thought I would stop by and see if an ordinary citizen could in fact call upon you in your office; and viola, it works! Congratulations ma'am. I think you will make a fine sheriff. Nice office, by the way. respectfully, Atri just a peasant | |

| Ah nice! Then I can use this room as a Sheriff soap box! Welcome Atri, and anyone else who happens by. I shall use this place to make comments about things I see as Sheriff which I think may interest people.
One of the things I've seen for instance, is that the county imports goods from other counties, including from overseas, for two reasons. The main reason is local shortages, but another is the cost of items. We can import certain goods more cheaply than we can buy them from local town markets. Examples are things like vegetables and fish and milk. We get requests from mayors for cheaper goods, even though their town markets have those kinds of items for sale. I think some of our traders should consider lowering the prices they charge. They may feel that higher prices bring in bigger profits, but if they don't sell things because we can import more cheaply, or because other traders undercut their prices, then they make no profit at all. The council would much prefer to purchase goods locally, and put the profits into local pockets, but higher prices make Somerset uncompetitive.
This is not a political party issue, councillors of all parties work together to get the best deals for Somerset, and being an older established county with a positive treasury gives us a big advantage in that we have good trading relations with many other counties. | |

| I noticed that some people leave taking a mine job until the last few minutes before reset. This could mean that some mine occupancy rate reports in the past have been slightly under-reported. We still need to encourage more people to take up mining though, as the mines provide the main income for the county. | |

| Hi Vana, I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can remember them. Grandstanding is when someone gets up with a loud voice and speaks solely for the purpose of being heard. It's usually a speech filled with rhetoric, typically tries to sway people and has very little substance behind the words and sentiments. Posting the raw data (ie the daily reports) is great from the point of view of posterity, but doesn't really help us too much. It might be helpful for you to post the daily statistics here, and only offer a daily summary in the Rk forums. It's definitely an effective way of confirming your actions, but it might be better to just post a summary of the mine information with a general commentary and your breeding activities. As to why the weekly summary report is helpful, well, it offers a snapshot of the important information. It allows the mayors to see how effective their mine promotion is, and maintain it or increase it as needs to be done. It also gives an idea of how active our farms are (via the livestock breeding numbers), and likely could be an indicator to mayors and Chardy that production is increasing / decreasing. But overall, none of us truly need the information, so as much as I preferred the style of reporting that Allikath used to do, the only one who would be attending to the data is Chardy, so she's probably the one to ask. Don't hesitate to give me a heads up if I missed a couple questions. I peeked too late to reply and the thread was already closed. |

| Thanks for explaining that to me. As a result of your encouragement, I have been doing more research into mine management, and I may well change my reporting style in future to try to make my reports more focussed, if I can find the time to do so. | |
