Council Assistance

Most esteemed councilors,

I have seen that the upcoming festival has been mentioned in the public ouncil room and I am absolutely delighted at the support voiced thus far. Thank you so much!

As for sponsors, the prizes are being taken care of. So no monetary support is needed. Your fellow sommersetians in Chard are pleased to host this event as a gesture of good will and friendship, and to remind all that we are ONE county.

I would be delighted however with assistance with promotion and getting the word out. I got scolded by 3 different censors for spamming the forums.

My goal was to get the word out to the everyday ordinary RK player who rarely visits the londom commons or even the Inn that often. This event was planned from the start to be open to all of Sommerset and for the express purpose of encouraging our county citizens to join us for some fun and games [as opposed to.. well , you know.]

It would be a BIG help to us, if someone from each town could roleplay posting the announcement or some version of it in each of your respective towns.

Chardonnay, ma'am, I am delighted that you will be attending. I haven't seen you since we shared an ale and much discussion in the Greenbush. We would love to show you and yours a good time at this event.

M'Lord Greg sir, you saved me sending you a PM. I intended to contact you in the hopes that you would be able to attend. There will be an archery contest just as the one at Mayday, and I know you and the SAS are anxious to make a good showing. Also, you are a reknowned role player and your participation will be a thrill.

Lady Elsbeth, do stop by on your way and spend a little time with us.

Father Cleophas has agreed to do the benediction at the opening ceremony. [there was some issue about being in a different diocese or something, but I think i have that worked out. maybe, lol]

I hope Lord Hypno will come also, as I am told he's quite the dancer.

Here are some "selling" points:

No Politics [in the same vein as the Serenity Garden]
EVERYONE is welcome [including level zeros, as they can roleplay attendance rather than travel]
the games should be lots of fun. The Cabor toss will be based partly on strength [with a screenshot] The log rolling game is a hoot.
Good Role play opportunity, great chance to reach out to newer players.
and of course.. valuable prizes!


If this works, then perhaps other towns can hold similar festivals spaced throughout the year. I would happily consult with or help anyone from any other town to make theirs a success also.

Thanks again to all of you for your assistance. The thing we need most [we being not just Chard, but Sommerset] is participation. turn out is the key. Any help anyone can give with getting people to attend is greatly appreicated.

Atri, from my reading of the applicable posting rules, and from the censors comments scolding me for a similar spamming, I believe that you can enter the RP sections for the different towns and post your notice there - in RP form, of course.
