| As this discussion of this issue has met and far exceeded the law's requirements of a 2 day discussion and as it has lawfully been moved upon and seconded for vote and as there were 3 nominations made and 2 of those were lawfully seconded and as the law does not dictate the discussion initiator has to bring a lawfully concluded discussion to the voting floor and because this has dragged on far beyond the law's requirement discussion and was moved on 4 days ago and seconded 3 days ago I am moving this motion to vote on the floor of the Public council room which is now the lawful place for such votes. For those of the public not familiar with this position please see - Quote :
Book 1 Article 2 of the Legal Corpus
Article 2 –The County Council.
Art. 1.2.1. : The Duke, the leader of the County Council, is the highest authority of the Duchy.
Art. 1.2.2. : The Duke is the protector of the Duchy, of its laws and of its citizens. His actions will always be for the protection of the people and the goods of the Duchy.
Art. 1.2.3.: The Lord Protector, is the second highest authority of the duchy. In case the duke is ill and incapacitated of doing is duties. The Lord Protector gets the Duke authority and a duty until the duke is capable again to take back is duties and authority.
The Lord Protector is elected with simple majority by the county council each beginning term. Our originally elected Lord Protector was Lord Hypno but this position opened again upon his resignation from counsel and has been in contention since. I am now moving this to the floor to vote so that we may be lawfully in compliance with the legal corpus and so that we may move on with the business of council. The nominees are in alphabetical order Counselor Chardonnay Counselor Vanna This vote will by law run for 2 days time. Please qualify your vote in the poll with an affirmed response to the same as per tradition.

| I vote for Counselor Chardonnay
She has worked tirelessly as the Trade minister and has established numerous diplomatic contacts and is well known in the political community of the Kingdom and has the experience and time in office to take over the reigns of leadership swiftly if an emergent situation arises and to move on with council business with no hiccups. She has a good rapport with the people and is known for being fair and level headed in her relations.

| As the 24 hour mark has passed an official reminder that votes are now in public council and that one is ongoing has been placed in Private council for any members who have missed reading this. | |

| As the law states this position is elected by simple majority which means that the majority of ALL BALLOTS CAST must be attained vs the Majority of all AVAILABLE VOTES then this Motion is now lawfully carried and Chardonnay is the Lord Protector of Somerset.
Congratulations Madame Counselor!

| Actually, the vote was valid. In similar cases in prior council terms, the outgoing councilors were deemed to have cast their votes, and the incoming replacements were not permitted votes on the matter.
I'm sorry, your Grace, but you can't simply invalidate a vote by claiming it's invalid.
I thank those who voted for me as Lord Protector (Lady Protector?)

| In fact I can, the law says nothing about the councilors involved. In light that two councilors who voted resigned while the vote was still in progress could be viewed as manipulation. In all fairness to the council as a whole and the citizens of Somerset I believe it is fair to ask for a revote. What is your objection to a fair and just vote of all the councilors presently seated in council? | |

| All councilors seated at the time of the vote had their chance to vote. The decision of those that chose to exercise their rights and do their job should be respected. | |
