Computer troubles

I lost my boot hard drive last night, and will not be able to make my reports until I get things working right again. Happily, I kept my data on a different drive! I can use the computer, booting from a Linux livecd, but I don't have full use of the computer yet. Not that my activity has been affected ...

Rebo asked what is a hard drive. I too was puzzled by this thread and had to look up references in the monastic archives I have access to. A computer is a person who reckons or calculates things such as the period of rotation of the sun and planets around the earth, a term first used in 1375. In this case I would guess that it is rather someone employed by the Trade Minister to help reckon the profits made from trading. So a hard drive would be an attempt to make that employee work much harder. And perhaps funds are needed to pay the person for overtime work or for producing extra reports.
