An idea I've had for a little while is a medal for the outstanding achievement of a Somerset citizen.
I had in mind that a committee would be set up to decide who should get the award. People could nominate someone and give evidence as to why they should be The Somerset citizen of the Month However any ideas on how to go about or improve would be wonderful.

It is great in theory but I believe it should be limited in that it should not be allowed to include self nomination as that will just become a joke amd I belive the nominations should be for services that are meritorious in nature and not frivolous ie LadyLustyPants should be Somerset citizen of the Month because she can outdrink the Knights of the roundtable in the taverns and has line of suitors from here to Scotlands bonny shores..

Well in my old county, they has a medal system, with strict rules about to who that can be given, that medeal is normally added to the COA of teh person.
And their they have the gold, silver depend of what the person do.
In resume one for the county citizens that accomplish great deal in the county and the second for citizens that make the county look good by great deeds outside of the county ...
