A couple of hundred years from now, Descartes will begin a project. Realizing that the senses can mislead him, and even considering that he might be dreaming (as sometimes dreams can seem as real as the waking life), he will start by doubting everything. But no matter how hard he tries, he will recognize that he can't doubt the fact that he exists as he clearly and distinctly recognizes that there is an 'I' that is doubting.
Based on this, he will state that Jah gave us perfect faculties of the mind. Unfortunately, only Jah can have infinite knowledge, humans can only have indefinite knowledge for we don't know how much we will know. Along with this indefinite knowledge, Descartes indicated that our wishes are infinite. We can wish for anything, whether or not it is possible to achieve.
While wondering how humans could ever make errors, he realized that the problem rested between these two faculties of knowledge and volition. Only when we ascribe judgements to something can we ever be wrong. While we perceive something clearly and distinctly, we can only find truth. Unfortunately, our wishes are strong, and will allow us to override that which we clearely and distinctly perceive as true.
This will be my final post in this forum. I caution everyone to reserve judgement whenever possible, and be careful what you wish for. Some of you got what you wished for, I just hope that once your knowledge catches up iwth you, you're able to transcend your eventual regrets.
