| Well lets get the ball rolling, first i would like to know what guidelines we should set for the entries and also what are the criteria we should judge each piece on? lets have some fun, and get to know the talents of the people of RK. | |

| first i would like to welcome Rebo and Thorpe. "i am of coarse looking forward to working alongside such people and building what i hope will be great friendships with all." poetry and art are not my strong points but are passions of mine. (not that im any good) i am very pleased to be apart of this wonderfull festival. Thank you | |

| Great job sir, I like a man of action.
Scarletwitch has mentioned the possibility of incorporating her artists guilds banner competition into the festival also, i dont know what exactly she has in mind. I PMd her but havent heard back.
I will update you and the other art judges here in this thread with her response.
It sounds like a great opportunity to pull in some really good artists and showcase their talents in our fine town. Good for them, good for chard.
I may enter this one myself [not that i am any good at all, but i like to doodle a bit]
Good initiative sir. Keep up the good work.

| Hello shane. I don't think we would have a set criteria for the art competition I guess it's mainly what you like to vote kind of thing. I can't really think of straight guidelines that we could follow. Oh and by the way sorry everyone been kind of busy RL probably still will be but I'll try my best especially when we have something to look at that... Thorpe

| OK gentlemen, here's the latest from Signature Creations [the banner art guild].
About a half dozen members are interested in submitting work. Their pieces will of course be in the form of signature banners, as that is their passion. Scarletwitch will submit ALL the entries for the guild, which will be numbered rather than named. That way the art is being judged and not the artist. I am not sure if they fully understood the wood theme criteria, but it doesnt amtter.
I suggest perhaps running two categories within the same contest. One "General" or something like that category for the 1st -3rd prizes; AND a separate "banner art" category with a prize of 10 pounds [we have the funds already donated]. The banner art category would not have any 2nd or 3rd place prizes.
The banners [except for the winner of best banner] would still be eligible for prizes in the genral category. In other words, those peices would be judged as art along with all the others. I wouldnt want the banners to be judged separately from the other art, except to choose a best banner. I hope that makes sense. lol Im a little punchy from lack of sleep.
So the prize list for the art comp would look something like this:
1st 20 pounds [teagans donation] 2nd discount on trousers from brighda 3rd one free bread from mikeblack best banner: 10 pounds [donated by ero]
That is my suggestion anyway. Sound OK to you fellows?

For Chard! Rebo Wishing he could be as fiendish That is probably the sweetest thing anyone has said to me lately. Thank you sir. I have a few more last minute details to work out, and I really really need about fifteen minutes of time with the mayor if I can run him down. I dont think he's noticed my querries in the other thread. If you see him, grab him by the ear and drag him to me. Atri fest fiend

| I could do the explaining, but I feel it should be one of you two (Shane or Thorpe). The two of you have taken a stronger leadership role in this. You two have done a wonderful job getting it organized in Council, and deserve to explain it to the masses.

Atri, you are amazing, and did a WONDERFUL job starting all these threads!
I feel great about our town council! Rebo
p.s. We already have our first entry...AND IT IS FROM THE REGENT!!!!! Holy cow!

- Dear Atri,
I hope you don't mind if we divide the art contest into banners without a specific theme and then artwork that follows your theme of woods, leaves, trees etc.
I hope that will be fine, because many of the artist have not have time to complete the themed works yet, but they wanted to have something for display.
regards I told her I thought this was perfectly fine. We need to be as encouraging and welcoming and accomodating as possible. So expect some wood themed work to be coming along before the week is out. Good luck judges. You guys really rock. Atri, tired, but happy, and very proud of her town and our council

| absolutely sir!
There will be wood themed work on the way.
That was what SW was saying, she posted the non-wood work first, just for consideration for the best banner cat, and to have something out there for folks to see; while the artists put the finishing touches on their wood themed works, which she sill post later.
woody stuff is on the way.
Great job guys. I am so thankful for all your hard work on this whole festival. You really are showing how special Chard is.

| Well the wonderful festival put together by the wonderful Atri is coming to an end. (Good job again Atri) So... I was thinking maybe we can start considering out entries for both poetry and art. Here are my ideas about the art places: The Banners: First place Brianna Second place Scarlet Witch Third place psychobadger The themed work: First place Scarlet Witch / Brianna (can't really decide) Second place Aiiane or one of the above if someone decides otherwise. Your ideas then? Ero? Shane? Thorpe | |

| Please correct me if I am going under false assumptions, or if this is old news. I thought we were going to have 3 prizes for Art (which could be anything) and one prize for banner art. - Atri wrote:

Atri Is this no longer true? If so, here is what I am thinking: Best Banner: 1st: 2nd: 3rd: I am actually partial to Scarlet's second painting, of the red flowers, then Bri's "dancing on the sea" banner, then Aiin's "music of the air" (in that order)but if we want to choose different artists, then I say: okay that was long.
