| Well who is going to be our very own shakespere wanna-be. personally im looking for different varieties of poems from people. i will judge on creativity, personality, grace, balance and presentation. again what should we ask people to do with thier poems, we want anything that revolves around trees, forests, leaves, lumberjacks ect. what are your suggestions. | |

| Yes. I think a theme regarding wood would be nice but from what I know poetry is not that easy (well not for me anyway ) and I think would be a bit hard to make all the poems revolve around the same theme. How would we judge it then? I was thinking maybe we can give them a choice of topics not too many but some... What does everyone think? Just thoughts, Thorpe. | |

Just thoughts, Thorpe. I dont think sticking to a wood theme will be that hard for most poets sir. Of course, I am NOT telling you gentlemen how to run this thing, it is entirely up to you. [I will try not to butt in too often, lol.] AS an example [NOT an entry] here's a little ditty I did just for fun and to see how hard a wood thme was: A woodsman with an old blunted axe struck a Chardian oak eighty whacks; But the tree did not yield and when he quit the field He’d more blisters than bushels, in fact I am thrilled to see the judges getting a head start on this, I am SOOOO proud of you guys. Atri poet laureatte of the town council, lol

| there are plenty of different types of poems that can be written. as above all the themes revolve around trees and so on. if we give people too much to choose from then we have no control over the standard, quality or type of poems the write. i am only saying that im sure we dont want people to give us poems that have nothing to do with the woodchuck festival. it wont do them any good because its outside the theme of the role playing. cheers. | |

| Interesting point, Shane. At first I was opposed to restricting it to wood related topics, but now I think the guidance will actually help people and improve the quality.
Keep it up, mate!
For the Chuck Fest! Rebo

absolutely sir. silly limericks, like mine above, sonnets, free verse, haiku, rhyming couplets. It should be interesting to see the variety of entries. You gentlemen will probably have your work cut out for trying to narrow it down. lol. atri very exciited to see this thing finally drawing near

| Hello Ero,
Unfortunately the poetry competition is pretty quiet still but hopefully we'll get some more entries by the end of the week. However there are some pretty good art entries although I don't think any of them have anything to do with a 'wood' theme. Well maybe some do but mainly they don't.

- Dear Atri,
I hope you don't mind if we divide the art contest into banners without a specific theme and then artwork that follows your theme of woods, leaves, trees etc.
I hope that will be fine, because many of the artist have not have time to complete the themed works yet, but they wanted to have something for display.
regards The wood themes are on the way. and the others can be considered for the "best banner" category. I still have no idea what criteria to suggest you use to decide. use of color composition [the layout and position of things] "flow" or "continuity" overall effect Maybe just "I liked this one best" lol i dunno, its a tough one, thats why I am glad that YOU are the ones doing it, lol.
