Article 1.1.1. : Any law proclaimed by the King of England applies to the Duchy of Somerset.
i. The duchy laws prevail over national laws if they are in contradictory.

In light of the King's recent edict that will require us to individually revise or repeal many of our laws and all the proposals we have at hand to revise or repeal many individual laws and the recommendation of the HOL panel of judges that the laws are flawed, in addition to the many complaints from citizens that the current legal corpus is confusing to read and hard to understand, in the best interests of the people of Somerset I propose we repeal the entire current legal corpus and make a decree to use the pre-existing laws we used when we split from wiltshire(the wiltshire laws) and then revise them to suit the current situation in Somerset.

Are you saying that because it would take so long to repeal each single law that LJS doesn't want, we should repeal the whole law and replace it with our old Wiltshire one? Wouldn't it just be easier to take our current legal corpus, make the required changes to it, then repeal the law, and replace it with the revised version?

If that made any sense at all Rolling Eyes (if anyone needs it I can make a flow chart for you Wink)

EDIT: as I'm currently in a discussion with about 5 different people about this issue, I ask you this: would it be easier to remove all the 'LJS-unapproved' laws from the legal corpus, or add all the needed laws (public council room, loans, etc etc) to the Wiltshire law? think about it...

He talks of restricting rights. Some things like the loans in my opinion are services not rights. Remove the restriction against running for office and we may well be done with it.

ahh, yes Greg! That reminded me of something. I think the whole point of what LJS said was so it would restrict the voting rights/running for power rights of people. So what he said wouldn't apply to the higher punishments for multiple offenses, right? (And yes, I'm pretty sure you said the exact same thing to me, but meh Razz)

If you read the proposal in it's entireity you will see there are concerns beyond LJS edict including some you have relayed to me yourself.
