The Duke of Worcester Has Arrived

The carriage transporting His Grace, the Duke of Worcester, stops beyond the gates. A teamster disembarks, opening a carriage door. Bowing low, he proffers in his open arms a shillelagh that a gloved hand then extends to grasp. Stamping the shillelagh to the ground, the passenger disembarks. The Duke of Worcester.

Atri sees the fine carraige trundle to a halt and a regal looking gentleman emerge from within. The Coat of Arms indicates the personage whom the vehicle conveys. Atri straightens her wrinkled peasant garb and approaches the man.

"Your Grace," Atri curtsies, "Welcome to the Castle Bristol."

She turns to one of the castle guards and beckons him forward. "Please show His Grace, the Duke of Worchester into the Castle. See that he is made comfortable, given refreshment and whatever else he may require, and inform Her Grace, Duchess Allikath of his arrival."

"An unexpected pleasure, Your Grace. Please accept the best our hospitality has to offer until such time as our Duchess can make ready to receive you."

Atri curtsies again to the visiting duke, before returning to her duties.

Lieutenant Gregarious of the Bath Somerset Armed Forces, Constable of somerset steps forward and bows to his Grace.

Pleas your grace, if it please you, I will announce your arrival to Duchess Allikath. I am sure she will wish to greet you immediately.

Gregarious rushes to the duchess' offices to announce the arrival of His Grace the Duke of Worcester.

The Duchess in the course of her main duty of answering correspondence is informed by LT. Gregarious that the castle has an unexpected visitor, His grace the Duke of Worcester.
She stops what she is doing and immediately goes to the chamber where he is waiting accompanied by constable Gregarious.

"Your Grace, what an unexpected pleasure. We are honored by your visit. I apologize for keeping you waiting.
I hope your journey here was safe and pleasent. What brings you to Bristol castle?"

'The pleasure,' notes Algernon, ' is most surely my own. We have arrived in hopes that we may see secured for the maintenance of diplomatic relations keys to suites of offices in thine Embassy. We look forward to warm and cordial relations with County Somerset.

Allikath curtsies to the Duke, "Thank You for your kind words sir, Of course Somerset has always had a cordial and cooperative relationship with our dear neighbor.
If the good Lady Atri would be willing I shall have her show you to your office suites and procure the keys for you. We are presently without a chancellor so if you need anything please do not hesitate to see me.
Welcome to Bristol Castle."

After feeding his herd, the lowly pheasant makes his way again to the glorious Castle ever curious of the goings on within. Along the way, the "Mushroom Warrior" was startled by a glorious entourage of carriages and escorts. What mysteries this edifice seems to provide for Ole Dill today?

Standing far off in the distance to avoid any trouble, he notices a figure equisitely dressed step forth from the carriage. Surely enough, fair Lady Atri was there to great this regal visitor, followed shortly by the noble Lord Gregarious.

For the first time in ages, Ole Dill couldn't believe his eyes; but he actually caught a glimps of the newly elected Duchess. He'd not seen much of her in Council the times he visited, and often wondered why his numerous proposals met by other councilors never gained the attention of the Duchess. Perhaps his stature as a lowly pheasant.

At any rate, he quickly learned that this noble visitor was indeed a Duke. A Duke? From another county? Ole Dill surely was ignorant, for he hadn't considered such an important person would be off visiting another county, what with all the work to do in his oown county. Either this was very important business; or he had a very capable Council to ensure that county affairs remained in order during his absence. As Dill had never even left Bridgewater before, he could not know the affairs of neighboring counties. He concluded that the visit was on account of something important, perhaps the upcoming elections.

Well the cattle needed tending to, so Dill would have to wait and see what our esteemed visitor had in store for his beloved county.
