well, what I mean is, any member of a SAS town should have access to all the other towns, I thought we fixed *that* before, thats why I thought adding you two to the Chard group temporarily would grant you access everywhere

No, as I've only got access to Chard and now Gloucester. All others are locked off to me.

You are in Tris, and I am so delighted.

Someone removed my access from the Chard portion of the SAS, without as much as a in game message or even a forum message.

Then when the town wanted SAS members to help during latest crisis I showed back up and found the door locked to me. This is and was totally unacceptable! If you really wanted my help during the last crisis you would have kept the door open!

I want whoever is responsible for this to apologize. I can see not getting a promotion for being inactive in the SAS, but not to be locked out in time of crisis and possible town defense. The way someone did this was to jeopardize the town's safety in time of crisis.

BAD!!

In any case I hear there is new management and I want back in the SAS.

I just read this:

9.3 If a soldier is expulsed from the SAS, he may not apply again for 2 months.

9.4 If a soldier is readmitted in the SAS after expulsion, he will NOT regain his previous rank.

9.5 Failure by any soldier to report to town commanders for 2 consecutive weeks without a proper explanation will lead to demotion or expulsion.

First of all. I never got a notice I was expulsed from the SAS and even if I was I have no idea how long I have been in that status. I never got a PM in game or a message in this forum.

Secondly. I would never want to rejoin the SAS unless I can regain my old rank. (I'm not asking for a promotion either)

Thirdly. Provision 9.5 --- last I heard it was monthly, not every week. My mistake. IMHO, this provision is excessive and forum activity should never be a substitute for in-game activity which in my opinion is MUCH more important, especially when the town defense is at stake.

In other words -- SAS management needs to take a hard look at this and possibly relax this if they want VOLUNTARY support from town members.

Please contact me in game if you want to contact me about this. I doubt I will return here until things change around here. What I would like to hear is that I was never expulsed, that I do have my rank, and that I am welcome back and that my forum access was changed by mistake. That would make me very happy.

Well, welcome back Gassy, or at least, i hope you will come back.
I am informed about your case and you was not the only one that suffer from this, i assure you.

SAS army is a voluntary army as you said ,exactly that.
We do not demote soldiers due inactivity or send them home,indeed, even RK game have a tolerance of 3 and more months in retreat.
The 9.5 article exists indeed but never applied in other towns,this is easy way to abused for personal reasons.
This is an article used only in chard for certain reasons and i fully agree with you that in game activity and call to arms is more important than to send someone home because he didnt fill a thread in time.

We need SAS to be a democratic body and if some articles come through an abuse of some Officers, then indeed, we need to change them.
The nobility and dignity of some soldiers as you has to be restored.
