| Statement of accusation - Judge Atri wrote:
The defendant has been discharged. The court notes your pledge to make right this wrong, and sentences you to pay the victim the three [3] pounds to make up the difference and to provide such proof as she may require to Mayor Marae that this has been done.
I note that you are now a level one and the owner of two fields. It is the fervent hope of this court that you strive to be a peacable and productive citizen of this county, but caution you that further appearances in this court for similar crimes will undoubtedly result in more punitive fines. Bill of indictment - Quote :
- It is alleged Viratshah hired Thaddaeus and paid him slave wages in the town of Bridgewater. Viratshah has violated Article 2.2.3 of the Legal Corpus of Somerset, which states:
Art. 2.2.3. : Slavery is defined as any attempt to hire someone with an indecent wage. The minimum decent wage is the minimum wage declared by the concerned Town Hall through decrees, otherwise the minimum wage of the Duchy, minimum wage of the duchy is 15 pounds. An exception can be made for helping another citizen, for a religious service act or for a redemption act. The Judge can recognize the a private contract that goes below the minimum wage on the condition that this arrangement was announced to the lieutenant of police of the town in public. Slavery is a light crime, thus the sentence will be a fine at the discretion of the Judge. A repeat offense of slavery will be a moderate crime.
Evidence to the crime can be found here http://forum.renaissancekingdoms.com/viewtopic.php?t=23196&start=90 Or here: https://2img.net/h/i73.photobucket.com/albums/i207/Marae_Almasy/Viratshah.jpg
It is written in the Legal Corpus of Somerset in Article. 2.1.5. : Confession of a crime can lower the degree of the sentence.
The Defendant can choose to confess his crime, defend himself, or seek legal assistance if he so wishes
It is alleged that Viratshah is dead, and a search for him has not produced results.
It is written in the Legal Corpus of Somerset in Article 2.1.2. that a light crime can carry up to the following sentence:
Art. 2.1.2. : The various sentences of Somerset Duchy are : i. Public apology in the appropriate Town hall or the Duchy hall. ii. Fine First defence pleading - Quote :

Last defence pleading - Quote :
