True we will, we discuss right now some serious matters and we are voting every single day something, but i assure you till the end of this week it will be finished. But the public council room is all but empty . I know it's just been archived, but the recent stuff wouldn't have been right? Unless all the votes are on private, military matters, they should be in the public council room. |

I was under the impression that all discussion EXCEPT sensitive security or trade issues would be both DISCUSSED and VOTED in public; in order that the voters of this county might be informed and aware of the issues, and to give them the opportunity to let their voice be heard on those issues in THIS forum. Has that changed? Or are we to understand that the many posts I see accumulating in the PRIVATE council room are entirely and completely sensitive matters of military security? SOMETHING is being talked about, obviously. How come the voters aren't allowed to know what that something is? So far, there hasnt been a single discussion in the public council room since the election. As I recall, BOTH parties claimed to be proponents of "transparency" and an informed electorate. So why is everything being done behind closed doors? Atri citizen in the dark

| And your impresion was quiet right ,but why are you quote my answer ?
Their is a reason why you do that ?
As i said we talking about high security Military issues that we need to resolve fast and some Military treaties, soon we will proceed in public voting for laws of Somerset Legal Corpus.
Why i post these issues now ? Yes- as you assume are mine. Good question, but as a Duke, let me have my sources.....
I am one of the Councilors also that i post in the Public aera Yes or Not ? We seek for a chanellor right now as you see.......
If you doesnt know, but i think you do, every Councillor have the right to post new disscusions in every Public aera and in Private and Public Council room.
And give to all the Councillors time to work, every finished issue will be published, even if it is a discussion in the Private Council room. If you also want to touch the sensitive part of the parties, i will be glad to enilight you sometime who participates and who doesn't....

| The topics that have been discussed are regarding the lord protector (that has been published in the RK forum i'm pretty sure) 2 are military issues and the most current one is regarding the funds for the county loan agency. That's it. Thorpe | |

| I would like to point out the law that everyone is referring to here, in case anyone does not know: - Quote :
- Art. 3.4.2. : All information given in the private council room forum is private. The only persons that can get information out is the Spokesperson, or any other council member that receives authorization to do so by the Duke. Any councilor that violates this article will be charged with high treason against Somerset duchy and can be sentenced to death or exile.
Discussion and voting related to the following subjects can only be held in the private council room : i. All types of treaties ii. Army, constabulary force, security proposals iii. Trade iv. Any proposal that the councilor who proposes it requests to be discussed and voted on in the private council room
We have a lot of new councilors this term, and I remember when I was a new councilor this law confused (and intimidated) me. So, I praise the citizens for doing their job of holding the politicians accountable - keep it up! But at the same time, I want to make sure we understand that this is the beginning of a new term, which often starts out slowly while people learn their roles as Councilors. Taking a further look into that law, lets look at the two important parts. First, all discussions that take place in the private forum are considered confidential, and information on any of them should not be passed to the public, unless the Duke gives consent. Second, treaties, security issues and trades are to always remain in the private forum, as well as anything that the proposer wants to remain in the private can remain in private. If there is something in the private forum that does not fit the guidelines for necessary confidentiality, we as councilors should assume that "iv. Any proposal that the councilor who proposes it requests to be discussed and voted on in the private council room" is to be respected. I hope this helps to clarify a confusing law (at least I found it confusing, but maybe I am the only one ) Again, I praise the citizens for doing their job, and ask for your understanding as everyone learns what it means to be a councilor. Keep up the good work! Rebo
