Well, I don't even think I am on the committee, but somebody has to do something!
So, here's my idea. We used to call this "Progressive Dinner" . A group of people would travel to different participants homes in one night and go to the 1st house for appetizers, the 2nd house for soup and salad, the 3rd for the main course, the 4th for dessert, and the final destination for music, coffee, and general merriment.
I'm not sure what to call this for the county, but we could turn this into an inter-county party. Let's say we post this in the Somerset Inn. People can participate from the start or anywhere along the route. For example, mayors. They would participate ig only when the group is in their town. But, they could participate in the RP on the forum and hear about other people's experiences as the "train" moves along. Each town could also do their own RP in their Hall. People could write "Journal" style about the trip and start threads or have party threads or tea social threads, etc.
Now a dinner would all be in one night, but we will be doing this in a 1-2 week time frame. So maybe each town would have a theme.
Say we start in Chard, then Chard can be "Chicken and Egg Night" and we can discuss which came first, have an Eggs-cellent time, chicken races, etc. (just please no cock fights!), then the group moves on to Bridgewater for "Stars and Moon Night" and we come up with ideas for that theme, next we move to Bath for "Fire and Ice Night", and maybe do a bonfire. Then, Bristol and Gloucester and back to Bristol to finish it up since it's the Capitol.
So, what I need from anyone out there
, is a couple more theme ideas and a name to call this. I have come up with a few but I am hugely open to other suggestions.
"The Crazy-Bus Tour" or "The Wild Train Ride", or keeping more with the times, "The Somerset Theme Tour" or something more renaissance???
What do you think?
