Judicial Co-operation Treaty
Art. 0 - Preliminary The high contracting parties Lady Armoria d'Ylfan, Regent of Burgundy, Lord Anthony de Massigny, also known as Wulfen, Governor of the Duchy of Lyonnais-Dauphiné, Lady Dotch d'Appérault de Cassel, Duchess of Champagne, Lady bubu_emuvillain, Countess of Perigord, Lady Boubou, Duchess of Tourraine, Lord Nicotortue de Brassac, Count du Limousin, Lord Leg l'Ancien, Duc of Savoie, Lady Mylena, Countess of Franche Comté,
Guardians of the royal and imperial Justice, conscious of the need and of their duty to ensure their citizens the safety to which they have the right to aspire as honest subjects, declare to want to govern their justice matter relations in a récipropre manner, according to the following terms.
Art. 1 - Some definitions The suspect is any person alledgly accused to have made an infringement to the law in one of the contracting duchies. The accusing Duchy is the Duchy on the territory of which the suspect committed the offence. The holding Duchy is the Duchy which carried out the arrest of the suspect.
Art. 2 - Field of application This Treaty has vocation to apply each time that a suspect tries to withdrawn himself from the Justice of the accusing Duchy, by leaving it in one way or another. Art. 3 - Establishment of a common information file With the aim of ensure the research of the whole of the suspects efficiently, the high contracting parties decide to create a common file of the suspected people.
Art. 4 - About the Arrest The procedure of arrest is the one of the holding Duchy. The suspect cannot request the application of the procedure of the accusing Duchy. If the suspect estimates that its arrest is illegal, he can deposit a request to the Justice of the holding Duchy, which must rule on the procedure of arrest before the continuation of the main proceedings in the accusing Duchy.
Art. 5 - Competence of the Court of the Accusing Duchy In order to avoid any confusion between the various applicable laws, the high contracting parties agree on the fact that any infringement to the law must be considered by the Court of the accusing Duchy, although the arrest of the suspect was made in the holding Duchy.
Art. 6 - Prodecure of the Trial at the Court of the Accusing Duchy The trial of the suspect is done by the Court of the Accusing Duchy, in gargote, under the direction of the judge of this Duchy The suspect has the right to be represented by a lawyer who can be made of office at the request of the suspect. The suspect has the right to address to the Court any mail which it will consider necessary. The Prosecutor of the holding Duchy can intervene if it wishes it.
Art. 7 - Recognition of the verdict The high contracting parties recognize the judgement given by the Court of the accusing Duchy as being perfectly valid and undeniable by the suspect in the holding Duchy.
Art. 8 - Sanction In order to ensure the effectiveness of the possibly imposed sanction, the Court of the holding Duchy is held to apply the decision returned by the Court of the accusing Duchy, except if the trial is sent to the Court of Appeal of the Kingdom or the Imperial Supreme Court, following the proper procedure. The appeal is suspensive if it were formed in the seven days of the rendering of the verdict.
Art. 9 - Engagement of the parties In order to ensuring a maximum effectiveness and to reinforce the safety of the Duchies, each Duchy contracting is committed with respect to all the ot The withdrawal of the Treaty can be done constantly. However, this withdrawal must be notified by the Duchy being withdrawn with the other signatories by the publication of an official statement in their gargottes respective. The Treaty will remain in application between the withdrawing Duchy and the other Duchies until the end of all the procedures in progress.
Art. 10 - Litigations The litigations possibly born from the application of this Treaty are of the competence of the Court of Appeal of the Kingdom or the Imperial Supreme Court ruling in first and the last court.

The suspect has the right to be represented by a lawyer who can be made available at the request of the suspect. The suspect has the right to present/address to the Court any mail/information which he/she will consider necessary. The Prosecutor of the holding Duchy can intervene if he/she wishes it.
