- Article 1: The Law
All merchants shall be required to contact the lawfully elected Mayor of Bridgewater before entering any purchase or sale orders on the Town Market of Bridgewater. Such merchants shall further be required to follow the Mayor's direction as to quantities allowed both for purchase and sale, and also allowed pricing. Failure to abide by this law shall be a light offense at first, and will become more serious with each repetition. The sentence for this crime are described in Article 2.1.2 and Article 2.1.3 of the Legal Corpus of Somerset.
Article 2: Definitions Merchant – A player who sells commodities on another market from a different county.
Mayor – The chief magistrate of a town.
Newcomer mentors – Usually a citizen from the town sending welcome letters to new arrivals.
Article 3 How to enforce From the day this law is declared part of the Town Law, there is one month where only warnings are given to people who violate this law.
Using the newcomer mentors and Town List, it is easy to identify who is from another county.
In case a player from another county travels through the town this mail is to be sent –
Greetings <Visitor Name>,
WELCOME TO BRIDGEWATER! Please enjoy your stay, and I hope you won't leave until you have had fun in the taverns with the local residents. If I do meet you in the taverns, we can share a special wine made only in Bridgewater from the fruits in our beautiful orchard.
Why have you come to visit? Is it to see a friend here? Is it a stopping place for someplace else? If you plan to do some trading here in Bridgewater, you must contact our Mayor, <mayor's name>, before entering any purchase or sale orders on the Town Market of Bridgewater.
For traders, It is also required of you to follow the Mayor's direction as to quantities allowed both for purchase and sale, and also allowed pricing. If you cannot abide by this, it will be a light offense at first, and will become more serious with each repetition. We welcome lots of trading in BW, but we do not want any merchants to fall into the criminal offence of dumping.
For whatever reason that you have come, please feel very welcome here and visit again. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to reply back. I enjoy hearing and conversing with visitors, so any letters to me are welcome.
Hope to see you in the taverns, -Name-
Article 4: Duration of this law This law shall continue in force as a part of the Legal Corpus of The Town of Bridgewater until such time as it is removed by vote of the Town Council or the County Council. Gloucester - has voted no Bath - Are voting on it Chard - has voted no
