Hmm, I hadn't heard about this unfortunate event.

I think the ax info would best be included in the "level one info" letter, under the explanation about cutting wood, and also added to the mayor's message where wood cutting is explained.

The most frequent comment I get from new players in the taverns, after inquiring about the effectiveness of the welcome letter, is that they "didn't actually read it all bacuase it was too long." Nevermind the fact that this sort of laziness can't be oversome regardless, it remains a fact of life in RK. Many newbies just want to rush off and get started "doing" things. They don't need to cut wood until they stat up anyway, so let's keep the ax info out of the welcome letter and see about fitting it into the level one letter.

Ero, are we getting any requests for the lev one letter? If players are paying attention to the new passage in the welcome about requesting it, then we should be getting some responses by now. If not, then I need to ponder some other way of getting the info to them.

Atri, I've sent out over 5 'Level One Letters' in the last two weeks. Although, most of them requested it after reading the "Chard Pulp", not because of the Welcome Letter.

And yes, I agree with adding the ax info to the Level 1 letter instead. I have been pretty slack in posting in here in a while. So I thought I ought to throw out a couple of mentor related things.

First, I continue to mention the level one info letter in the Pulp, nnot sure if its having an effect.

Second, I want to say that SanteeClaws helped correct a couple of errors I was making while mentoring in the tavern. [I didnt know you couldnt seel your clothes back to the market. oops. and I had forgotten what the penalty was for begging.] I thanked him, but if you see him, give him an attaboy.

Third, I want to thank one of our team who is pretty quiet in here, but who is a real force while mentoring in the taverns. Sela, you rock. Sela is far more patient than I, far more knowlegable [her understanding of game mechanics is outstanding] and far more consistant than I am. I am frequently amazed while watching her work with a new comer or anyone else with a question or problem.

You all really make me proud to be a chardian

Yes, mentioning the level 1 letter in the Chard Pulp has gotten people's attention, Atri. I've been sending out a few letters every week.
