This has been discussed and mostly agreed that it would be best if the council business were conducted in the RK council forum where there is unbiased administration.

http://forum.renaissancekingdoms.com/viewforum.php?f=199&sid=d9d168f979c39f62b931f079da5ff0f9

Please vote now to make it official.

I've not discussed administration.

I really do not care any more about this issue. I honestly think we have more flexibility and more responsiveness here. Administration of the Main forum is becoming a night mare with the addition aof another Kingdom let alone a county. I think we are more stable and safer here in honesty but wil do business where ever we choose to. I vote for the Rubber Ducky in Bath myself as I know I can get in, I am the bar tender Wink.

No.

This board has more flexibility than RK ever can. Notice, for instance, that when Rebo requested some additional forums in the Chard area he had them within minutes of his request.

The SAS couldn't have the flexibility they've wanted for sub-forums either.

Nor could the council have that flexibility. If we wanted to do business in public there, it would be public to the extent that every casual browser in the game could watch us play, while here we're really limited to Somerset citizens.

Too, this a) hadn't been discussed in weeks, and b) it seemed at the time that the consensus was to stay here.

It appears to me that the two days for voting is up and that the proposal is passed with a simple majority of those who voted.

Sorry, I didn't see this until after I had clicked the poll. Disregard. I am still stumbling around a bit bumping into furniture.

Shouldn't the vote thread be locked once the time is up? The discussion portion could remain open for further comments. Just wondering.

wierd. it shows a 4 - 7 vote in the poll, although only (i think) four people cast votes verbally.

I'm not sure this is a great idea, given our sheriff has been issued a temp ban in the RK forums, nor am i sure that the vote as shown constitutes victory for either side. It looks more like some persons didn't understand that their vote, to be counted, must be explicitly stated, and not just punched on the poll mechanism.

I would wish to call for a revote on this measure.

Still it seems the measure has failed. If we are to use this forum then I purpose that we must have the elected Duke as the sole administrator. As it it stands now Duke Hypno of Galloway is an administrator and Ellsbeth but not our elected Duke Evil or Very Mad

Hypno is the boards' owner. That is not transferable. Admins are appointed at the discretion of the owner of a board. Ellsbeth and I were appointed for Hypno's reasons; I leave it to his discretion to speak further about that. As far as I know, he is also the only person who can grant or remove administrator privileges.

A re-vote sounds reasonable to me, since it isnt at all clear [to me at least] where this stands.

I was one who punched the button but didnt specify a vote, because I was confused as to whether or not this issue had been resolved or not.

Sorry, rookie third string bench warmer at the plate here.

I need to go re-read the discussion thread on this, as I dont recall the specific points you two ladies just mentioned being brought up; but I am awful tired so I may well have over looked it.

I would agree.
This is a tremendous quandry for me as I can not decide on the issue.
There are points to consider on both sides.
I really like this forum and the freedoms afforded here but on the other hand the county business should probably be conducted in the RK forum.
I don't know truely so if anyone wishes to propose we table the issue I could probably be convinced without too much effort.
When I first proposed it there had been concerns expressed to me by more then one council member that they felt the council should be on the RK forum and at that time I had some real concerns about the admin situation because of a misunderstanding that got out of hand. However I have been a proponent of this forum from the moment it was just an idea.

I then move that the vote on moving council business to the RK forums be tabled until such time as this body or its legally elected sucessor shall decide to once again take up this question.

Aye. [to table the vote]

That seems like the right course of action to me, ma'am.

I agree with tabling the issue.

The only admin action I have made on this board since Hypno made me such was to create the suggested RP forum for the public here but those have not really been used after the much ado made about the need of them.

I have created several forums for the use of various groups of Chard, I believe, but have done nothing else save to remove a few Scots from the membership list.

On the Hypno Admin issue, I was thinking. Admins can change the names of people, so if we could get Hypno to agree, for this site get him to change his name and password, and hand over to someone else? I know on the RK forum sharing accounts isn't allowed, but it would cause a bit less fuss, and I'm sure Hypno wouldn't mind not being bugged about forum changes all the time. Razz

If he were to agree, would there be any objections? (I'd ask him if he'd do it now, but he's asleep methinks)

He'd still have some responsibility for whatever was posted here. I'm not at all sure what the legalities would entail, but I wouldn't be willing to let other people do as they wished with something I might have a legal responsibility for.

This vote was resolved as in favour of the motion after the due time limit, but then not closed. Then more votes appeared to change the result. To table a motion means something different to American or British speakers:- In America, tabling a motion means postponing a discussion usually with a view to shelving it indefinitely; in Britain tabling a motion means presenting a motion for discussion, usually with the hope of getting it agreed sooner rather than later.

A second vote on the same issue should have clarified it, and again votes were in favour of moving to RK, but now Chardonnay has declared that second vote illegal, suggesting that we had not had a discussion about it, and that we had voted to 'table the motion', presumably in the American sense, which we have not voted to do.

Could we use a clearer phrase than the verb 'to table' if we are to have a vote on that please? Chardonnay's intention may well be to keep us legal, but its not legal to declare we can't discuss it any more.
