Arrival of the ambassador from Burgundy

Sitting at her desk, Patan is dealing with the day's paperwork when a Castle Guard knocks on the door and enters. Hearing that a new Ambassador has arrived, she nods and lays down the pen. She rises and follows the guard to the door, smiling to see the woman waiting patiently.

Patan sinks into a curtsy and rises, greeting the woman with a smile, "Good day, Your Excellency. Welcome to Somerset, and to Bristol Castle. I am delighted that you found your way here."

She leads the way near to the warmth of a brightly burning fire and indicates a comfortable chair, "If you would care to sit here for just a few moments, Your Excellency, I shall have the Castle's servants prepare your office. In the meantime, perhaps you would let me see your credentials...just a formality, of course, but one we like to follow." She smiles and calls forward a servant, giving a rapid instruction while she awaits the Ambassador's documentation.

Sara du Fennec smiled at Lady Patan and follow her in the Embassady. The place was nice and the Burgundy Ambassador was very happy to be finally arrived.

Your Excellency, It’s very nice to meet you. I’m very honoured by your warm welcome.

The French woman made a small reverence and gave a letter from the chancellor from Burgundy.

Patan reads the Ambassador's letter, "Thank you, Your Excellency. If you would please give me a few moments, I shall ensure that your office is prepared and collect the keys."

Dropping a swift curtsy, Patan smiles and hurries away to find the keys to the Burgundian Embassy's office.

Finally having ensured that the Ambassador's offices are prepared and the keys located, Patan returns to the Castle entrance.

"Your Excellency, I apologies for the delay in locating the keys to your offices. I have taken the opportunity to have one of the rooms redecorated for you, so if you would care to come with me, I shall escort you there."

She smiles and indicates for the Ambassador to accompany her to the part of the Castle set aside for the Burgundian Embassy.
