I checked out the first offical anniversary and they played a game where you pretended to be SAS and defended the castle. Posting the amount of kills. The link still works, so it might be a nice touch to have this game in the third anniversary. I forgot to save the link lol but I think it's called 'The king of the hill'. They also had a 'town drunk' role play game which you drunk one more mug of ale than the person before you and you rped if you fell over or remained upright.

I have a few other games like darts and knife throwing that might be interesting but if not I can keep them for the Tri-county fair I am suppose to be organising

Hmm...I don't exactly see how you do this drunkard game. A person might RP that he will never fall off.

And how about we have a Best tribute to somerset competition. In this a group of people or a person can preent whatever they think is a good tribute. It can be a poem, a story, a short RP (which they have to perform in not more than 3 days) or some picture r a combination of all.

Well yes the drinking game seemed odd to me, I think it was just because they couldn't get into tavern at the time for some reason. Check it out on page 8 by memory. I added it in because it was part of history, we can leave it out.

Would the county be prepared to offer prizes?

Hehe...if the county doesn't, maybe we, the committee can chip in 1p each to the prize?

That was when the forums were different. You could have been anywhere in England and post anywhere in England at that time. The drinking game was created that way so the others who were out of town (which seemed like a lot at that time) could participate.

As for prizes ... I know that I would love for county to do that, but it would probably need to be approved by council. Which could be hard, considering that in these first few days of office, there have been comments already that Somerset needs to cut costs.

Bones, I could work with you to put up a proposal, or at least get some more information on how much would be needed for the competitions.

Or ... you can let me be your sponsor and I will provide the funds you need I think that's the least that I can do as Duchess

I would prefer to try the proposal to council, first before we have to ask you or anyone else for money out of their own pockets. I had thought about adding tickets to enter the games but I feel it destroys the birthday theme, if it was a general fair then fine but it feels odd doing that for a birthday.

We could have a donation tree (ingame and rp) Where citizens leave a gift of coin for Somerset. Trouble is I am not sure how we could do this ingame to have the coin go direct to council, is it even possible?

The only way to do it would to have a council member carry a grant set up from the county, where people who wanted to donate money would buy and sell goods to the grant. When the grant gets canceled, then the money goes to the county.

Winners of the festival would then be given a grant with instructions of how to buy/sell the goods in it to get their prize money.

Bones, if we can get together one of these days and figure out how much you would like to have in regards to prizes, that would be great so I can help you get the request to council.

I'm really sorry, Bones, but I'm just getting nowhere with the posters. Don't seem to have time and I keep getting distracted and can't come up with inspiration.

I'll keep trying - but I think perhaps it might be a good idea to go with your original idea of asking the signature creation team. Or I can ask them if you want?

Things to tell you:

- I don't think we can do the food hamper. Too confusing of a grant to do, and too expensive if we will have 3 games (ie, a total of 6 prize grants)

- We CAN do the 40 pound and 20 pound grants, though. I will talk to Tris and I can get the grants settled out and ready. We can do the 180 pounds total.

- The mayors ALWAYS ask me if they need something to go out in their mass mailings. If you can get me an announcement that can be about a paragraph long, by ... October 14th, I can work with the mayors to get that announcement into their messages that will be going out at the time of the festival.

Seems the flash game may be creating issues for some computers. The only solution I can see will be to find another game, does anyone have time to google the internet and find one? I would like it to be fishing because I have not seen this done on the forum yet but really does not matter if its something else as long as its not completly out of rk reach. (no racing cars etc)
