| do you mean location as in where they are IG, or where they live? I don't mind if they're from Worchester, but if they're not in Chard to collect the prize, it might be a tad difficult.. |

They will have to be in chard to collect any winnings. But they can roleplay particpation from anywhere. If they dont win anything it's a non-issue. If they do win, they must come to chard to collect the prize. Seems reasonable to me. Atri

I understand his objection, it would be more fun (and economy enriching and more rp-like) to have people actually in Chard. But I see that the decision has been made, and I respect that- I'll spread the word. For Chard! Rebo A guy who likes to read the little things Atri writes under her name. .

- All judges will need to decide among themselves how to go about deciding winners [PM, email, msn, whatever] and what the criteria should be. Be prepared to set aside Saturday the 25th for reachcing final decisions and posting the winners in the contest thread early on the 26th, I will then collect the info and consolidate the winners in the welcome thread.
A reminder to those who are tasked with judging or running a contest: It's not too early to begin some cross talk with your fellow judges on how you intend to communitcate and decide on a winner. I am leaving that up to the individual persons involved to decide how best to choose a winner. Participants will be expecting the results on the 26th, so dont get caught with your petticoats down. Rebo gave me a good idea. PMs and email are souch a clumsy and slow way of communicating with a group of 3 or more, it may be easier [since all the judges are council members] to creat threads HERE in town hall for the poetry and art contests, where the judges can discuss and deliberate. It would be much easier, I think What do you folks think? Atri for Rebo! [winks]

I will open all the relevant threads sometime early on Saturday the 18th [perhaps even right after reset following the 17th, late friday night here] I will role play the setting up of each contest, and let the judges follow along with any instructions or rules or welcomes or whatever you deem fit. D day is actually day after tomorrow in my timezone. It wont be neccessary to sticky them sir. Activity in a thread will auotmatically bump it to the top and i fully expect these threads to be active. I have cleared the plan with Mole, and the censor team shouldnt give any probs unless we need a bouncer. I will also have hotlinks in the welcome thread linking to all the other threads so no one will have any trouble finding them. They will be in the top 10 threads in chard hall. I assure you. I am finalizing the prize distribution among the contests and it looks like we enough to award prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd in every contest. Teagan and I reached an accord and his 100 pound donation will be split up as five 20 pound prizes for first place in each event [as that was the most valuable.] Scarletwitch is suppose to get back with me soon on what we may need to do to incorporate her banner contest into our event. I will update right after I hear from her. I will posting the update of the contests, judges, and prize list here sometime tomorrow, maybe later tongiht. And I will let you all have a look at it to see if im arsed up on anything and to review the prize distro. (to make sure I dont have a more valuable prize listed for third than for second, or whatever) Mike, I know you are a man of few words, but I think it would be nice if you post a short speech of welcome, have fun, etc in the opening thread after I open it, after Cleophas' prayer probably, might thank him for that wonderful prayer blah blah also. Something more than your usual one liners and grunts, dare I hope? lol [winks at mikey sir] let me know if I am missing anything here, or if you have questions, fire away. Lady M, can I count on you to drop by each of the threads and do a brief roleplay as spectator [or participant if you like] if activity lulls? Maybe mid week. I will do the same, and I hope my fellow councilors do likewise, just pop in a quick RP post during the festival week to keep the threads lit up. Where are Ero and Aeryn? I imagine they must be busy with mentor and county loan stuff respectively. And what about our deputy mayor? Atri gitten'er duhn

Yes sir, thank you. I do think it would be appropriate for you, as our mayor, to welcome folks with some sort of brief something or other. Something "mayory" lol. Aeryn ma'am, thank you. I know you have your hand sfull. We have it covered i think. I just hadnt heard from you in a while. I DO expect you to make few posts here and there in the festival threads next week. In fact I am counting on all the councilors to do that. We need to spur activity by being active. Once this beast is finally put to bed, I intend to crawl in a hole for a few days and recuperate. I have asked teagan to do a closing prayer, waiting for confirmation. [will give him the chance to upstage his rival, lol] I met with scarletwitch in the greenbush tonight, and have some info on the artists guild competing in the art contest. Will share that info in the judges thread later. Ero has offered to donate 7 wood bushels. Mike sir, can yu let TH collect those from her and let me offer 20 pounds in prizes in their stead? Also, you mentioned using a grant to do the payouts, if you need me to do that, i can. So far i think the only prizes that TH is actually responsible for distributing are the 5 x 20 pounders from teagan, and now the 20 pounds from ero, which i plan to divide up into 2 x 10 pound cash prizes. so 7 total. More updates as h hour approaches Atri going to bed More updates soon.

| Thanks thorpe sir, i had forgotten about that.
here is the latest lineup:
I need some feedback on the prize distribution. Does it seem equitable and are the biggest prizes at the top?
Art Contest, Rebo, Shanehall, Thorpe 1st 20 pounds teagan, 2nd one free meat rebo, 3rd one free veggie rebo best banner: 10 pounds [donated to TH by Ero]
Poetry Contest, barerose, thorpe, shanehall 1st 20 pounds in cash, donated by Father Teagan. 2nd two vegetables for only 5 pounds each from Shanehall. 3rd one bottle of milk for only 5 pounds from Barerose.
Archery Competition, Atri 1st 20 pounds, teagan’s donation 2nd discount on trousers from Brigdha AND 10 pounds, ero 3rd one free bread from Mike Black
Cabor Toss, run by atri 1st 20 pounds, Teagan. 2nd one free meat from Atri 3rd one free bread from Mike Black
Log Rolling Competition, run by atri 1st 20 pounds, teagan 2nd one meat for only 10 pounds, Atri 3rd low price on a meal at bridgha’s tavern
Last minute donations are still trickling in, so I amy have to tweak this again.
Mike sir. If you would like me to handle the pay outs on the cash prizes, just grant me 120 pounds and 10 or so woods and I will take care of the transactions. Atri

| All this looks ok to me except the 1st and 2nd prize for archery. Depending on the discount the trousers AND the 10 pounds might be better than 1st, but depends on the discount. Also 2nd and 3rd prizes for log rolling seem pretty much the same can we adjust that in any way?
My ideas... Thorpe | |

My ideas... Thorpe Thanks sir. I dont yet know how much of discount brig is offering, as she is yet in seveneoaks and cant pin down an exact figure. [I tried to press her for one, but brig is not a woman that can be pressed, lol] I pulled the 10 pounds from 2nd of the archery, and added it as a separate "bannner category" prize in the art contest. I am open to suggestions on the 2 and 3 prize at log rolling. Did you have something in mind? How about I add ero's other 10 pound prize to the 10 pound meat, making the 2nd prize have a value of around 17.50? Also I added wayshakers milk to 1st prize in the archery comp. I figured since that one requires two screenshots per entry, it will be the one that will the most incentive to get people to play. But if you see somewhere else that it might do more good, let me know. Keep the suggestions coming folks. I can continue to tweak this as needed until reset tonight. After that, its a done deal. New Prize schedule would look like this: An Art Contest: Rebo, Shanehall, Thorpe 1st 20 pounds teagan, 2nd one free meat rebo, 3rd one free veggie rebo Best Banner: 10 pounds, ero Poetry Contest: barerose, thorpe, shanehall 1st 20 pounds in cash, donated by Father Teagan. 2nd two vegetables for only 5 pounds each from Shanehall. 3rd one bottle of milk for only 5 pounds from Barerose. Archery Competition, Atri 1st 20 pounds, teagan’s donation AND 1 milk for 5 pounds from wayshaker 2nd discount on trousers from Brigdha 3rd one free bread from Mike Black Cabor Toss, run by atri 1st 20 pounds, Teagan. 2nd one free meat from Atri 3rd one free bread from Mike Black Log Rolling Competition, run by atri 1st 20 pounds, teagan 2nd one meat for only 10 pounds, Atri AND 10 pounds from Ero 3rd low price on a meal at bridgha’s tavern Atri

| One thing Atri: don't be disappointed if it isn't super popular over night, one thing I've learned about Chard is it takes a while for things to get rolling here. I think it'll be a success, but lets be patient, and try to keep all our councillors active in the role play (the taverns are a hit at the very least) |

| With a heavy heart I must bid you all a sad goodbye. The Bonnie Hills of m' home have beckoned me home, and it's a call I can't let fall upon deaf ears. Haste is needed in this, so I fear that I will not be able to attend this grand event, that I was so looking forward to. Good luck to all of you, for you have all been very dear friends, and I will cherish you always. | |
