Mike, Rebo, Barerose, are "great voices of Chard" I am just a big mouth on the council. Atri PS it *is* kinda neat to see how much work goes on behind the scenes, isn't it sir? I was amazed when I was first "invited" [dragged] in here. Now that you mention it, i am still amazed.

Yes sir, it helps a great deal! Thanks for catching my typo, I will have to hunt that down and fix it. I am the world's worst trypist. Thanks for the donation. The CoA is a great idea! I will add it in And I think Mike can temporarily change the sighage at the Greenbush, that is also a good idea. Mention it to him if you see him, in case he doesnt see your post. He has exams on tuesday and has been a little preoccupied. Atri

| I dont suppose anyone knows the bb code for centering text on the RK forums?
I can do it here, but not there, and i wanted the announcements to look a little snazzier than they do at present.

Little things, mean a lot. Such Flattery! Shane, I am thoroughly impressed with your motivation! Keep it up, it inspires me to do more. Atri, I can't say enough about you, dear. The announcement looks great! I am truly proud of the Town Council for doing this. We really set the bar for what a town council should do (we get things done without mudslinging- take THAT County Council!....ahem). This is going to be a great event! I have but one concern. I see that to claim a prize you must be in Chard, is there any other incentive for actually coming to the town? My brain is not really working right now (Mondays tend to do that to me....) so I cannot think of a really good incentive. Cheap beer???? Its all I got. For Chard!

| Congratulations with the news. The advertisment sounds good. However... I thought I had my name down for poetry and art and now it shows up for archery which I never mentioned but no big deal would judge whatever you give me. Also if I am to judge any of the events can you please tell me where I can actually find the scores (for archery if it's the case) and the art and poems? Looking forward to it...
Thanks, Thorpe | |

| Here's the opinion of Chardonnay, Somerset's Trade Minister about our festival:
"I think that the council should, if the organizers agree, assist in sponsering the festival. Me, I think I'll spend some time in Chard soon."
I think it's all nice and everything that they offered to help us but I think we said would like to do this ourselves right?

| Well, knowing the council, there will be no simple response like that from them as a whole, they will probably bicker over it for a couple weeks (sorry Rebo) but I think we decided that we didn't really want the county's help anyway (as in we didn't want them sticking their noses in?...) Oh, Teagan donated about 100 pounds (40 + a large ladder) to the event so I suppose I can set that up for something heh heh, its in town hall's hands now |

Oh, Teagan donated about 100 pounds (40 + a large ladder) to the event so I suppose I can set that up for something heh heh, its in town hall's hands now I think I should thank the council, and re-emphasize that we hope all fo sommerset will attend, but decline the sponsorship. I will do that tonight. Thorpe, I will make adjustments to your judge positon to the poetry and srt contest, sorry I got confused. I will update the latest psoitions later, maybe towmorrow. As for Teagan, dont be surprized if he has second thoughts about his donation. I am not on his christmas card list right now. He doesnt like the idea of giving prizes to non chardians, and he doesnt like Cleophas period. I sent him another letter explaining the need to reach out to all of sommersset and hope he understands, but I must say I was too rushed too stressed and too ill to be as tactful as i might have been. Why ill? Well i got jumped by four different censors in three counties about "spamming" the forums with my festival annoucement. I thank all of you for the help, I am going to need it. Atri

Thorpe We dont need any donations from the county, but I would love to have their help promoting the event and encouraging participation. We can plan it, organize it, fund it, run it. BUT we need everyone across the county to support it by attending for it to be really something special and great. I have already posted in the pubblic discussion area at the county, asking for their help with promotion. Chardonnay's support will help alot, and i am thrilled that she is on board. Also Gregarious. I hope he brings out his entire SAS unit to compete in the archery and strength events. They are both good solid sommerset citizens and well respected. I find their support very encouraging. Mike sir, assuming Teagan doesnt take offense at my rebuke and ask for his donation back, shall I add "one free large ladder" to the prize list? How do I divvie up the 40 pounds Cash? two 20 pound prizes? four 10 pound prizes? I like the two 20 pound prizes better, but am open to suggestions from the council. Atri

In RK forum PMs. Am awaiting his response to my latest volley. I trust the good father will see reason on the matter in the end. If not, Ive made it plain that we will proceed as planned with or without his approval. Time to put animosity aside, even if just for few days during the festival. Afterward, everyone can go back to slitting each others throats if they like. heavy sighAtri doing what I can, as I can, for as long as I can manage it

| how are the events going to take place. i am wondering if tis possible to open a folder as such within chard hall that leads to a new set of threads for the festival. chard Hall - Festival - Art Archery Poetry caber toss etc.... this would be something admin would have to arrange i think maybe mikeblack would know. | |

chard Hall - Festival - Art Archery Poetry caber toss etc.... this would be something admin would have to arrange i think maybe mikeblack would know. Yes sir, I have something like that in mind. Heres my plan thus far: 1. On D Day I will open a new thread, titled "Welcome to WoodChuck Festival" - IN this thread, I will roleplay the opening of the event and mentioning each contest, Father Cleophas will delivery the blessing, and I think the Mayor should say something approriate, welcoming everyone. 2. I will then open a separate thread for each contest, or the head judge or whoever is running it will. [I will have these duties assigned in advance, soon actually.] It may be easier if I open each of them and then let the judges take over by posting their arrival and set up or rules or whatever. Up to you guys. These threads will all need ot be started shortly after the initial post, and I will need the judges to post in the threads something to get the ball rolling, if no customers show up, roleplay some fiddling around or something funny or lighthearted. DONT FORGET TO PLUG THE SPONSORS FOR EACH CONTEST! I should have that info finalized by friday late.3. As soon as each of the contest is opened, I will edit my original welcome thread with HOTLINKS to each event. That way the welcome thread will serve as a "directory post" where people can jump to each game. This thread will also serve for general mingling and chit chat roleplay for folks in between games. I will try to nudge it along now and then with things like "oh jah! did you see the score that Lord so and so put up in the archery contest? He's quite a bowman!" etc etc All judges will need to decide among themselves how to go about deciding winners [PM, email, msn, whatever] and what the criteria should be. Be prepared to set aside Saturday for reachcing final decisions and posting the winners in the contest thread early on the 26th, I will then collect the info and consolidate the winners in the welcome thread. Here is the line up so far: I can still make changes and or modifications if needed. Shanehall, I think I have you where you wanted, but your avatar is so like thorpe's that i may have you two mixed up. I am blonde after all. An Art Contest Rebo, Shanehall, Thorpe Should have a wood theme if possible. Lady M suggested have the artists compose something based on a phrase like "if a tree falls in the forrest and no one is around to hear...." This contest, like the poetry contest is entirely subjective and it is really just a matter of deciding which one the judges like the best. A Poetry Contest barerose, thorpe, shanehall Also should try to ask submissions have a wood theme. Again another subjective one. use whatever criteria you like to judge, flip a coin if you have to. An Archery Competition Atri and mikeblack using this link [http://ntco.free.fr/81.swf] this one seems pretty straighfoward, use the link, play the game, take a screencshot of your best score. Mike, can they post as many as they like? I like that idea. Or should we limit it to x number of attempts and the highest one counts? A Cabor Toss run by atri This one will require posting a screenshot of your strength [in game] in order to enter Then I will use a random number thingie like the one for the miners lotto to add a number to their strength and the sum will be the distance thrown. this gives the strongest the edge [logical] but still leaves room for someone with less strength the possibility of winning [call it technique or skill if you like] A Log Rolling Competitionrun by atri, include profanity warning, link [http://wbrnash.com/larrythecableguy/game/] Also like the archery comp. link, play, post screenshot, unlimited attempts The dance:Robert from dover will be kicking this off on the 19th or 20th [I've been recruiting outside talent, lol.] Its pure roleplay, no set up required, but participation in the way of a post or two would be appreciated. Prizes thus far: Prize of 1 free meat sponsored by the CO Meat Market, Rebo, proprietor Prize of 1 free veggie sponsored by the CO Meat Market, Rebo, proprietor Prize of 1 free meat sponsored by Atri Prize of 1 meat discounted to 10 pounds sponsored by Atri Prize of 1 Milk discounted to 5 pounds sponsored by Barerose Prize of 2 FREE bread from MikeBlack??? 5 Prizes of 20 pounds each from Father Teagan, Priest of Chard* *I hope I separated the prizes from the events for now. Once we collect any additional sponsors, I will divvie them out among the contests. Easier than continually making changes Shane, does that help? Ok, tell me what I am overlooking. Questions? Comments?

I actually like the idea of cash prizes. so we will go with two 20 pound prizes As for the ladder, can we just say that town hall can sell it later and for now use 3 more 20 pound prizes in place of it? That would give us 5 x 20 pound prizes, which would be great for the first place winners. An attractive prize will certianly encourage otherwise reluctant folks to enter the contests I will finalize the prize distribution among the contests when the time draws nearer Also, how about actually handing the prizes over to the winner? Will each winner have to met with each sponsor to make arrangements, or can town hall collect all the prizes and then give them out? The first way is obviously simpler for us, but the second way we dont have to worry about a sponsor not following through with their pledge [obviously I am NOT tallking about our council members] and would allow us to begin collecting the prizes right away. Your thoughts sir? Too much work for town hall to be the go between? Atri Rebo you didnt warn me that being on council was going to be this much work, lol

any jobs for poor old lazy marshums? Oh heavens yes! I am happy to see you back, Lady M. Just let me know which event or contest you would like to help with, or anything else you'd like to do. I welcome the help. Actually, I could really use your assistance with something in particular. I need someone to drop by the forums of the other towns, finding an ongoing dialy activity type roleplay thread, and roleplay a messenger taking up a "notice" with this link: http://forum.renaissancekingdoms.com/viewtopic.php?t=45583 Can you handle that for me? I had my other announcements deleted by the censors, but Badger said the censor board agreed that using the above tactic was acceptable. [badger was the most kind and helpful of the censors, and offered a constructive alternative] Remember, use an exisiting, ongoing town RP thread, and post the link to the announcement, rather than the announcement itself. Mike sir, I will not be listing Teagan's prize donation, until i get the final word from him. You know how "cranky" our priest can be, lol. At the moment he still objects to giving prizes to people not actually in chard in game. I noted his objections, explained my reasoning for doing so, and told him if he still objects I would ask you to refund his 40 pounds and ladder. I will let you know his response when Australia time coincides with priest time. Lady Brigdha has pledged one pair of trousers and one meal at her Pub for "the lowest possible price" although she wasnt sure of the exact amount yet as she is in sevenoaks and cant access her shop. heavy sighAtri

| Sure, I can do that! RP Spamming is fun! :3 Badger is a nice censor (he was Chard's when I was mayor, and even mailed me saying hi! Such a sweet thing he is! Someone should invite him to the festival!) I can ask Teagan next time I see him if you like, it should be easy as we run on the same time (its 1:30am right now ) the cheapest price for a meal in a tavern is 5 pounds, and that meal can be anything from 1 corn to 3 meats *drools* |

the cheapest price for a meal in a tavern is 5 pounds, and that meal can be anything from 1 corn to 3 meats *drools* Thank you soo much lady m, youre a doll! Lady brig meant the lowest price she could afford, i think, not lowest allowable by game mechanics. The meal is some irish dish called Colcanon [milk + veggie] [side note: I never knew that a tavern meal could have three items. Doesnt your HP fill up after the second item? Do you gain any stat increase from the third? I had heard that anything over two items was just wasted.] Also updates: 1. I have PMd Mole to clear the plan with him for seven seperate threads for the week of the festival. 2. I have sent a letter to Scarletwitch to ask for her ideas of incorporating the artists guild's banner contest into the festival, as either part of our art comp, or as a seperate event. 3. As already mentioned, I have explained the decision to offer prizes regardless of in game location to Teagan. I reinterate that this IS the way its going be. I am not debating the issue. Next festival, with someone else running it, they can do it their way. Atri PMS does NOT stand for "private messages" at the moment. [*takes another Midol*]
